Rolling Out a Curated Set of Software and Data RepositoriesOver the past couple of years, a lot of things have changed. Some changes have improved how we share the software and data that we generate in the lab, necessitated in part by the growing popularity of our work. Building a Plant DNA Barcode Library: Fieldwork EditionThis post provides resources and advice from the Kartzinel Lab to help you plan and build a plant DNA reference library to use in dietary metabarcoding projects, which evidence has shown can markedly improve results. We recently did the math and found that our team has produced some of the most extensive and widely used DNA barcode libraries in the world, with experience from Kenyan savannas, Yellowstone National Park, arid scrublands of Chile, and many other places around the world.

Many versions have been released, the most substantial of which was associated withe 2019 publication of the Plant DNA-barcode library and community phylogeny for a semi-arid East African savanna in Molecular Ecology.
